About Westbourne House lake
Future Fisheries is a Limited Company which is a partnership between two friends, Roger Ellis and Steve Burley, who have a passion for Carp Angling, Fish Aquaculture and the natural environment.
As well as owning the freehold to Westbourne House Lake we also run a Fish farming business under Future Fisheries selling our top quality Carp to the wider UK re stocking market.
Roger Ellis has lived in the south for 41 years working in the charitable sector for over 25 years and has been involved both at the start up stage and in the development of many different projects and charities.
Roger is also a keen and well travelled Carp angler with many years experience catching them to over 50lb; he is also a long standing member of the BCSG (British Carp Study Group).
Roger has extensive experience in the start up and running of fishing syndicates and for the last 15 years has been involved in fish rearing, bringing significant numbers of fish from fingerling to specimen size (40lb+).
Steve Burley B.Sc. (Hons) Aquaculture & Fishery Management MIFM CFTA is a keen and well travelled angler. Before the mid 90’s Steve was a Complex Logistics Company Director for a large distribution company based in the south serving blue chip companies such as IBM.
In the mid 90’s Steve changed tack and earned distinctions and awards studying two years full time for a National Diploma in Aquatics and Ornamental Fish at Sparsholt College and then a further three years to earn a Batchelor of Science Honours Degree in Aquaculture & Fishery Management.
Steve then lectured in specialist subjects such as Sport Fishery Management & Fishery Creation at Sparsholt College for two years whilst starting and building up his own successful business Burley Aquatic Developments. A few years ago Roger & Steve met on a netting job, quickly joined forces and laid the foundations of what has now become Future Fisheries Ltd primarily involved in the farming of quality large Carp for the UK re-stocking industry.
