One of the many surprises we have encountered since purchasing the lake is the stock of large Pike that is clearly present and is just being discovered. The lake teems with fry and silver fish, which whilst causing little problems to Carp anglers, clearly provide excellent food for the Pike and Perch that are present. The Perch have yet to be explored but Pike have been caught to 32bs with a number of big 20’s being caught with plenty of doubles too. Some of these doubles have been caught with massive teeth marks in them! It’s only a matter of time before the first bi 30 is caught and we already have our first two members who have joined purely for the Pike fishing which means although we have 55 members only 53 of those are Carp fishing. We plan to look after these awesome Fish. Westbourne is already perhaps the premier Pike water of it’s type in the South and we plan to allow the Pike fishing to develop and grow and we know the way to do this is to keep the fishing pressure on the Pike to a minimum.
