There are seven different strains of carp in the UK, including:

The Galician Carp • The Dinkelsbuehl Carp • The Ropsha Carp • The Italian Carp• The Aischgrund Carp • The Frame Carp •The Royale Carp

These strains have become indigenous to the UK and are the source of the gene pool which dictates the nature of all the fish which are being produced under the ‘English Carp’ label in the UK. Many breeders have experimented with a ‘Galician’ (Leney) and ‘Dinkelsbuehl’ (Dink) mix which produces the fast growth of the Dink and combines it with the beauty of the Leney strain.

Where Future Fisheries is unique is that our ‘Italian’ fish are pure strain and therefore you can be totally certain of their genetic parentage and you are buying into a historic strain rather than a ‘hybrid’ source.
